Supply and demand as well as inflation on livestock essentials influences the pricing for goods and services. Along with many other unwelcomed curveballs of 2020, prices of livestock essentials (especially the price of hay) have sky rocketed. Like any other business, we too, must make adjustments to account for the expenditures of running our farm. One of these adjustments is the monthly boarding fee for our herdshares. As we have experienced a higher demand for more herdshares, we will be freshening more goats which means we are feeding a richer diet to more does in milk...which also means we have more bottle babies to tend, more births to assist, more does to milk, more time in the barn. Beginning January of 2021, our monthly boarding fee will increase from $30 a month to $35 a month.
